Auction for Elicio: Items needed for our Silent and Live Auctions

One of Elicio’s paintings – which could be yours in Second and Real Life!

We have been telling you about Filling the Cauldron, the special event to raise funds to support Elicio Ember, the creator of Ceridwen’s Cauldron.

As part of the fundraising event, we will be having an TWO auctions – a SILENT one (where you will be able to place bids throughout the event from April 1st – 9th, and also a LIVE auction, to be held from 10am – 12 noon on Sunday 9th April at Holly Kai island.

And we have something very exciting already that will be on sale at the auction – a selection of drawings by Elicio himself that will be available not just inworld, but can be sent to you in real life as well, as a very special treasure to keep.

A Unique Gift from Sweet Revolutions!

We are currently looking for more items to add to the auction. These can be individual items … such as art, clothing, jewellery or furniture. You’ll see above a really gorgeous item that has been donated an a unique gift by Sweet Revolutions – a beautifully detailed Mayan Temple.

But the items can also be special services – a boat trip around the Blake Sea; a hand designed scroll containing a favourite poem. We’ll be offering a Designing Worlds show made on the subject of your choice, and we also have two different and very exciting gifts from different dance troupes in Second Life!

Time and expertise can be just as valuable. For example, if you are a photographer, you could offer a lesson in SL photography or studio sitting; if you’re a machinima maker, you could offer to shoot a video on an event or a location of the bidder’s choosing; if you are a live singer, you might offer to give a private performance to the bidder and their friends. Just provide a description of what you’re offering in the form.

Whatever you’d like to donate for the auction, we’d love to hear about it – please complete the form below – or contact Saffia Widdershins inworld with any questions.

As things come together

We’re now just a week from the opening of Filling the Cauldron, and everything is starting to fall into place. Our marketplace slots are all filled, several of our artists are all set up and ready to go, the entertainment slots are filling up. There’s a fair bit still to be done, but we’re getting closer and closer to being all ready to open the gates!

Cerridwen’s Corner, Elicio’s shop for the event is now complete, with lots of vendors and the opportunity to enjoy his fabulous creations. Elico has also provided a Welcome Area gazebo for us, which will have information givers, teleport maps (also located throughout the event areas), and more. Just follow the crystal stairway from the main landing point (SLurl coming soon!).

You’ll be able to purchase a lot of Elicio’s goods from Cerridwen’s Corner, located in the South-East corner of the Filling the Cauldron region

The teleport board, designed by Vecchio Barbosa is also available as a handy HUD – just grab it when you arrive, give it permission to teleport you, and you can hop around the event areas at your convenience – although signs and gates throughout the region will hopefully guide you around as well and offer a pleasant walk from place to place!

We’re not going o give too much away on the entertainment front, other than there will be music throughout the week, and we’ve also got two special dance performances being planned. On Sunday, April 2nd, the Night Theatre will perform for us – watch for more details in this blog! Then, on Saturday, April 8th, the Monarch Dance Troupe will be giving a special performance of Amnesia – and we’ll again have full details on that in an upcoming post.

Our teleport boards and HUD will help you get around

We also have a lot going on with out auction, with some very special items up for grabs. Saffia will have more to say on these this week, so keep an eye on the Filling the Cauldron blog for more very soon.

The full event schedule will be available via a Google Calendar soon, and we’ll have a breakdown of entertainment alongside that in the blog to help make finding out what’s going on easier.

And don’t forget – the photo contest is still going, with some great prizes up for grabs – just get your entries in before April 3rd.

We’ll have more for you throughout the week, so keep checking back!

Filling the Cauldron Photo Contest

We’re launching a special photo contest open to everyone and with some very special prizes.

Elicio’s store, Cerridwen’s Cauldron, offers a marvellous, magical setting both in the air and on the ground. All we’re asking you to do is visit Cerridwen’s Cauldron and capture some of that magic. It doesn’t matter if you select a part of the skyborne store or the ground-level landscape. Simply capture all or part of the region in a way that brings out its beauty and magic.

In return, we’ll be offering the following special prizes:

  • 3rd place: items from Cerridwen’s Cauldron worth up to L$750
  • 2nd place: items from Cerridwen’s Cauldron worth up to L$1,000
  • 1st place: an original piece of real world art by Elicio himself, delivered to you in-world and to your home.

There are a few simple rules for the competition:

  • No more than two submissions per entrant
  • The goal is to take a photo of Cerridwen’s Cauldron. It can be of the store areas or the ground level areas
  • Avatars are permitted in photos, but should not be the focus of an image
  • Entries must be posted on the Filling The Cauldron Photo Contest Flickr group, no later than 23:59 on Tuesday April 4th, 2017. Flickr timestamps will be used to determine time of submission
  • All entries must be in keeping with the Second life Terms of Service and Community Standards governing Moderate regions. Nudity and adult themes are not permitted
  • All submissions should be new and original, but can be submitted to other groups
  • Editing within external software is permitted prior to submission
  • Judging will be on a basis of 50% popular vote on Flickr, and 50% by a panel of judges
  • Please do not contact Elicio Ember in regards to this contest. All enquiries should be directed to Inara Pey or Saffia Widdershins.

Two weeks and counting!

We’re just two weeks from opening the doors on Filling the Cauldron to help raise money for Elicio Ember and his family. To mark the countdown, there’s going to be a lot more going on in this blog, with more reports on the planning, the event, the entertainment…

To start the ball rolling, Designing Worlds recently re-visited Elicio’s fabulous in-world store, Cerridwen’s Cauldron. If you’ve not been there, it really is a must-see visit, not only for Elicio’s amazing creations, but because it really is a gem of a design, both the store and the ground-level area (which Fantasy Faire fans will instantly recognise).

So why not find out more by watching this Designing Worlds special? You can also read more about Filling the Cauldron and Elicio’s situation in the pages of this blog.

And there are still a couple of places left for merchants in the Marketplace, and we’re still looking for volunteers to help run things and entertainers to make the week go with a swing! So if you’d like to be involved, follow the links!

FTC update: Cerridwen’s Corner

Cerridwen’s Corner is the name of the store area at Filling the Cauldron where Elicio’s creations will be on sale to everyone visiting the event.

Located in the south-east corner of Holly Kai Park, where the event is being held, Cerridwen’s Corner has been designed by Judi Newall using items created by Elicio to present a little corner of his home region, Cerridwen’s Corner.

Cerridwen’s Corner

The store will offer many of Elicio’s creations, as well a teleport to his store at Cerridwen’s Cauldron, allowing you to buy in confidence knowing your money is going directly to Elicio and to his family.

A parcel windlight is also being used for Cerridwen’s Corner, so if you have a viewer supporting parcel windlight settings, don’t be surprised if the sky changes as you enter the store area 🙂 . We’d like to think the purple tint to the sky sits with the green of the Corner to offer a location in keeping with Elicio’s favourite colours. And if your viewer doesn’t support parcel windlights, try flicking your widlight over to “[TOR] SCIFI – Purple wisps & egg yolk” when you visit the store!

Cerridwen’s Corner

We’ll have full SLurl details to Cerridwen’s Corner and the rest of the park venues supporting Filling the Cauldron ahead of the opening, so keep checking back with this blog!

FTC Update: our venue

Filling the Cauldron will be hosted by Holly Kai Park, located close to the Blake Sea, and accessible by teleport, boat and seaplane.

The home of Art at the Park, Stories at the Park and much more, Holly Kai Park offers a beautiful setting for Filling the Cauldron, with plenty for visitors to explore, as well as providing some great venues area for us.  To help people find their way around, here’s an initial look at some of the areas of the Park we will be using.

The Pavilion

Located on the west side of the park, and offering its own moorings for boats (2 hours rezzing time, re-rezzing possible). Holly Kai Park’s Pavilion is a stunning outdoor facility with teal awnings covering a large dance floor and seating areas, with a stepped glass stage for performers and DJs. We’ll be hosting our entertainment there which will include music, dance shows and live performances over both weekends of the event, as well as events during the week!

Art Hill

The home of Holly Kai Park’s Art at the Park seasons, the Art Hill will be the home for three parts of the Filling the Cauldron:

  • Our art show
  • Our auction
  • Our merchant’s marketplace

Located at the top of the steps from the main landing point and moorings on the east side of the park, the Art Hill offers lots of room for out art display area, auction area and the merchant’s marketplace, as well as a central area where visitors can sit and relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Storyteller’s Circle

The Storyteller’s Circle at Holly Kai Park is a special area of the park for events in Voice and other attractions which appear from time-to-time. For Filling the Cauldron, it will be completely made over to become Cerridwen’s Corner, a mini-store selling Elicio’s creations. With a direct teleport to his main store at Ceddidwen’s Cauldron, the Corner will allow people attending Filling the Cauldron to purchase Elicio’s items, either directly or by hopping across to Cerridwen’s Cauldron, and so help raise funds for his family!

The Storyteller’s Circle at Holly Kai Park will be completely transformed into Cerridwen’s Corner, a store selling many of Elicio’s creations – more on this soon!
